About Emperor Star

Emperor Star is built by Haoyu — a chip design engineer based in Singapore who got annoyed that English-language Chinese astrology apps look like they were made in 2008 and still can't get time zones right.

Ziwei Dou Shu (紫微斗数, Purple Star Astrology) is a 2000-year-old system from Tang Dynasty China. It reads twelve life palaces, not sun signs — closer to a personality framework than a horoscope. We pair it with MBTI to give Western readers a foothold.

The translation borrows from Black Myth: Wukong's approach: keep the pinyin (Wu Qu, not "Wealth God"), quote the classics where they earned it, and let the voice live in the gap between old and now.
